WAITING
In the thanksgiving
mood, am thankful for life, salvation, friends, family and readers.
Thank God for his
grace, love and constant out pour of patience. I mean! Is it just me or this
happens to other people? you know that moment you are expecting things to happen
as planned, like you are so sure things are going to fall
in place with time (faithfam team) but it seems like it’s taking a long time or even forever to manifest.
When you have finally
resulted to believing and trusting God, just when you have taken the bold step
to keep hope alive and enjoy the waiting period, people come with words like
" so what next, "so when is
the date? And am wondering are you God? If you are really bothered about my
future, please go on a 3 day fasting and prayer, perhaps 40 days will do the
job perfectly. Don’t get me wrong, I know they are asking or speaking out of
love, but please think about how it feels, i am obviously not happy things aren't going as planned but wetin man go do? The pressure is real! The only thing
that keeps a person going is the ability to trust God, keep hoping and praying.
Doing God’s will
sometimes means waiting patiently, most especially the manifestation of those
promises you have inculcated into your daily confessions, wheeew! Trust me, I
know the feeling, but those waiting periods thought me a whole lot of things, I
have learnt to remain a happy person, not just happy but joyful, not giving the
enemies any opportunity to rejoice over me. During my study moments I came
across this bible passage and I tell you, it changed me, kept me going and
increased the intensity of my love for God.
Delight yourself in the lord and he
will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
To delight in someone
means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence or absence,
this happens only when we know that person well, so delighting yourself in the
lord means you must know him better. We all patiently await the manifestation
of God’s promises because we know there are great testimonies to be shared, I
learnt to laugh out loud and hang out with friends leaving no room for any
negative thoughts or imagination.. So my friends, I advice you do the same,
quit the self pity, get up and be happy.
While you wait, please
enjoy your waiting moment, you should love God more, take your mind off the
things you need or want, take it off your worries, cast them away, dwell more
on how you can grow with God, Serve others and tell others about him. Waiting
for God to help us is not easy, looking at the story of David; he was facing so
many difficulties causing him to feel rejected.
We sometimes think God
is punishing us for our sins or something like that ( even if you think that’s
what it is, why not ask for his mercy, even the bible says come boldly to the
throne of grace. His grace is made available and sufficient. On the other hand,
shall we continue in sin that grace may abide? God forbid).
He is not an author of confusion;
He loves us more than we can imagine. Through David’s hard times, he consistently
submitted himself to the will of God. Waiting for God to show up is sure not
easy but David received four benefits from waiting:
1) He was lifted out of his despair,
2)
His feet was set on the rock,
3)
He was given a firm place to stand
4)
God put a new song of praise in his
mouth.
On a conclusive note, know
that no matter how long you wait, God will certainly show up, don’t take the
short cut, don’t give up, ask God for the grace to wait patiently. You will
laugh at last just like David did.
Please leave your comments
below and share your testimony to help some other person out there, we need each
other.
